GREIF COUNSELING FOR ADOLESCENTS
The teen years are usually difficult and the bereaved teen needs special attention. Teens are already dealing with the developmental stage of adolescence. They are looking for an identity that fits, changes are occuring in body image, behavior, attachment and feelings.
Life becomes even more complex when someone close dies, a shattering expereince faced by 1 child in every 10 before the age of 18. (Helen Fitzgerald, CT) American Hospice Foundation.
One approach to dealing with teen grief is counsening groups where they can share feelings with peers experiencing similar emotions and pain. They also learn skills to rebuild their lives.
Groups help teens feel understood and supported.
8 week group
